Some important updates were made to Farmdesk over the past month. We list them below:
Easier cost price management proprietary feeds
In order to use Farmdesk to create the most accurate insights into the performance of your farm, it is important to have an accurate picture of the cost price of feeds. For purchased feeds, this is easy to enter, and adjust regularly if necessary.
In addition, feeds from own cultivation also have a major impact on the final feed cost. From now on, it will be possible to set for each crop the correct cultivation costs (establishment, fertilization, harvesting...) once, which will then be systematically applied to the new feed materials within this crop (e.g. on all grass silage). This adjustment has no effect on already existing feeds.
Be sure to contact your linked advisor to review this in further detail for your business.
Adjustments standard cost prices of proprietary feeds
In addition to an easier way to enter feed cost prices, the standard cultivation costs of the various feeds were also adjusted based on the latest KWIN figures (Quantitative Information on Livestock).
Your current cost prices were not adjusted, but it is appropriate to see how the cost prices for growing your own feed on your farm compare to the most recent survey figures.
Be sure to contact your linked advisor for this as well.
Feed database expansion
As a final adjustment, a major expansion was made to the feed database based on the most recent CVB table book. Thus, there are currently 279 feeds in Farmdesk.
